Manchester United menamatkan spekulasi mengenai perpindahan bintangnya, Cristiano Ronaldo apabila menerima tawaran lumayan daripada Real Madrid berjumlah £80 juta (RM462 juta).

Jumlah tersebut meletakkan Ronaldo sebagai pemain termahal di dunia dengan mengalahkan rekod perpindahan yang dipegang Zinedine Zidane dari Juventus ke Real dengan bayaran £46.7 juta (RM269.8 juta).

United terpaksa melupakan khidmat Ronaldo selepas pengurusan kelab juara EPL itu bersedia melepaskan pemain itu dengan bayaran £80 juta

Berita perpindahan pemain berusia 24 tahun itu disahkan oleh laman web United dan semua proses akan diselesaikan pada penghujung bulan ini.

Ronaldo sudah lama menjadi sasaran gergasi Sepanyol itu di mana presiden Florentino Perez minggu lalu berikrar untuk melakukan apa saja termampu bagi membawa masuk penyerang United itu ke Bernabeu.

Seminggu sebelum itu, Perez terlebih dulu menandatangani kontrak perpindahan Kaka yang berjumlah £59 juta (RM340 juta) dengan jumlah keseluruhan £139 juta (RM803 juta) hanya untuk mendapatkan dua pemain.

Real sebelum ini memang sudah dikenali sebagai kelab yang sanggup berbelanja besar bagi mendapatkan bintang-bintang bola sepak ternama dunia seperti bintang Brazil Ronaldo (£23.2 juta), David Beckham (£24.5 juta), Luis Figo (£37 juta) dan juga Zidane.

Walaupun terpaksa kehilangan pemain terbaik dunia itu, United sekurang-kurangnya dapat menggunakan wang perpindahan tersebut dalam pelabuaran kelab dan membentuk semula pasukan.

Justeru pengurus, Sir Alex Ferguson kemungkinan besar menawarkan posisi penyerang tengah kekal kepada Wayne Rooney dan memenuhi janji yang diucapkannya atas apa yang ditampilkan penyerang England itu di peringkat antarabangsa.

United ketika ini cuba mendapatkan pemain Wigan, Antonio Valencia dan pemain sayap Bayern Munich, Franck Ribery walaupun nilai £40 juta yang diletakkan kelab Jerman itu terlalu tinggi.

Ferguson pastinya sudah melakar rancangan sewajarnya dalam menampilkan muka-muka baru United sebelum juara Liga Perdana Inggeris (EPL) itu bertolak ke Asia dalam rangka lawatan awal musim kelab itu selama lima minggu.

Red Devils hampir pasti menampilkan beberapa pemain baru dengan pemain veteran Edwin van der Sar, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes dan Gary Neville hampir berada di penghujung karier masing-masing.
