YAYA TO ARSENAL?
Arsenal are lining up a ¤10 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will be looking to bolster his options in central midfield over the summer following the departure of Mathieu Flamini for AC Milan.
The January sale of Lassana Diarra and the declining form of Gilberto Silva leaves Arsenal rather thinner in the middle of the park than they would like, sparking speculation that Wenger will splash out in the transfer window.
And according to The People, the Frenchman has pegged Toure to fill the void left by not only Flamini’s departure, but that of former skipper Patrick Vieira in 2005.
The former AS Monaco man has been linked with Arsenal several times over the last six years, due to the fact his brother and fellow Ivory Coast international Kolo Toure plays for the club.
And with the Toure the elder set to receive the captain’s armband next season, and Barca preparing to enter a new phase under Josep Guardiola, the time could not be riper for Toure the younger to make a ¤10 million switch to North London.

Arsenal boss Wenger turns to Gomis
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to raid St Etienne for striker Bafe Gomis.
The People says Wenger is concerned Emmanuel Adebayor will quit this summer as AC Milan and Barcelona hover around the Togo international.
Gomis is on Wenger's radar after a sensational run took him to the top of the French scoring charts and into their Euro 2008 squad.
Manchester United have also looked at Gomis, 23, but insiders at the French camp say that Arsenal are now the favourites.

Arsenal boss Wenger targets Newcastle's Given
Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given is a target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
The News of the World says the Gunners are lining up a £3.5million for the 32-year-old Irish international, who is fit again after being missing since February with stomach and hernia injuries.
Given, capped 86 times, fills the gap in experience left at the Emirates by the transfer of Jens Lehmann to Stuttgart and provide a stern challenge to Manuel Almunia to be No 1.
With Steve Harper on the books, Toon boss Kevin Keegan is not expected to stand in the way if Arsenal and the player can agree terms.

Arsenal to offer £12M for Blackburn's Santa Cruz
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to offer £12 million for Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz.
The Mail on Sunday says Arsenal are prepared to fight Manchester United for Santa Cruz. Paraguay striker Santa Cruz, 26, has been a revelation in his first season in the Premier League, scoring 19 goals in 37 appearances.
Despite costing only £3.7m from Bayern Munich last season, the player's value has soared and, with three years left of a four-year contract, he will not be easy to prise from Ewood Park.

Arsenal boss Wenger welcomes Ramsey signing
Arsenal have completed the signing of Aaron Ramsey, Cardiff City's teenage midfielder, "on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee".
The 17-year-old chose to move to Emirates Stadium ahead of Manchester United, the Champions League and Premier League champions, as well as Everton after all three clubs expressed interest in the Wales Under-21 international.
"We're delighted to have signed Aaron Ramsey," Arsene Wenger said. "He is a young player who has shown huge potential with his performances for both Cardiff City and Wales at under-17 and under-21 levels. He is still only 17, but has already shown that he is a very intelligent and mature player with great quality.
"Although he mainly plays in midfield, Aaron is a versatile player and can also play across the defence. We are all looking forward to welcoming Aaron to the club for our pre-season preparations."

Gervais reveals Arsenal interest
Le Mans' Ivory Coast International Gervinho has announced that Arsenal are keen on his services.
The skilful 21-year-old, whose given name is Gervais Yao Kouassi, counts Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as one of his admirers, but insists that both he and Le Mans are fully committed to each other - at least for the time being.
"I know Wenger likes signing young players," he said. "I prefer to stay in Le Mans and learn my trade at the club that gave me a chance to be linked with a big club.
"When I arrived at Le Mans nobody knew me, I had to work hard to get into the first-team. Today I am a bit known in Europe.
"Arsenal have spoken to my agents and they are looking at it. Arsenal are a big team, they have made it clear they want me.
"However, (Le Mans director Henri Legarda) is saying no to them. My club is refusing any discussion with Arsenal because they do not want me to go.
"My contract runs out in 2010 and they are keen to extend my deal."
